Ruben Loftus-Cheek will be one of the many players to leave Chelsea this summer after his move to Italian side AC Milan is finalised.
According to Sky Sports, the Rossoneri have agreed a deal in principle with Chelsea to sign the 27-year-old English midfielder. The deal is worth £18.5 million and once finalised, Loftus-Cheek will sign a long-term contract with AC Milan.
Loftus-Cheek is seen by AC Milan as a replacement for Sandro Tonali, who is set to join Newcastle. Loftus-Cheek has one year left on his Chelsea contract. The midfielder came through the ranks of Chelsea’s academy but his game time has been limited over the years.
He made his senior debut for Chelsea in 2014 but was subsequently sent out on loans at Fulham and Crystal Palace. As a result, he has made just 155 appearances for Chelsea in over eight years and scored 13 goals. Last season alone, Loftus-Cheek made 33 appearances in all competitions.
A move to AC Milan might see him get more game time. AC Milan have already locked down important players at the club, with Olivier Giroud extending for one year and star player Rafael Leao signing a five-year extension a few weeks ago.
