Arsenal went five points clear at the top of the Premier League table thanks to their 4-0 convincing win against Everton at the Emirates Stadium.
Sean Dyche’s men thought they would keep Arsenal at bay but star boy Bukayo Saka opened the scoring for the Gunners in the 40th minute before setting up Gabriel Martinelli at the stroke of halftime to ensure Arsenal go into the break with a two-goal lead.
Everton did not have much of the ball as Arsenal dominated all matters on the pitch in a display they would love to look back on and replicate in the remaining matches of the season.
In the second half, Arsenal came out looking for more goals and they definitely got them.
Captain Martin Odegaard finished off a well-structured team move that had Leandro Trossard put it on the plate for him to hit it home in the 70th minute.
Everton did more defending in an effort to control the damage from Arsenal’s consistent attack, but was not enough to stop Martinelli from slotting in the fourth from close range, assisted by substitute Eddie Nketiah.
The win takes Arsenal to 60 points from 25 matches, and it has also reduced the goal difference gap between them and second-placed Manchester City to six.
Everton’s position on the table is unchanged in 18th.
