Arsenal beat Wolves 5-0 in a dominant performance at the Emirates Stadium to round off the season in style.
The Gunners quickly imposed themselves in the match and got the opener through Granit Xhaka in the 11th minute from lose range.
Three minutes later, the Swiss captain, who might be on his way out of the club headed home Gabriel Jesus’s cross to double the Gunners’ advantage.
Bukayo Saka added the third to thank Arsenal for giving him a new contract, and his goal meant that Arsenal went into the break leading a Wolves side that didn’t cause any threat to the host’s defence.
The second half was again dominated by Arsenal and Jesus quickly turned from provider to scorer with a powerful header in the 58th minute before January signing Jakub Kiwior scored his first goal for the club twenty minutes later to take Arsenal’s tally on the evening to five.
Arsenal may have let the Premier League title slip away but will pride themselves in making big progress this season, as they’ve finished the season second for the first time since 2016 when Leicester won it. Champions League football is returning to The Emirates.
