The shortlist for the March EA SPORTS Premier League Player of the Month award nominees has been released and it includes two Arsenal players Bukayo Saka and Leandro Trossard.
The two players have helped Mikel Arteta’s team stay on top of the Premier League table eight points clear of second-placed Manchester City after winning all four matches they played in the month of March.
Saka scored three goals and assisted two in the matches against Everton and Crystal palace, and became the youngest Arsenal player to reach double figures for goals (10) and assists (10) in a season. The England international is also the only player with that achievement in the Premier League this season.
Leandro Trossard provided five assists in three matches, recording three in the first half against Fulham and setting up others during the Everton and Crystal Palace matches. The Belgian became the first player to provide three assists in the first half of an away match in the Premier League.
Other players nominated for the monthly award include Liverpool’s Mohammed Salah who was vital in the Red’s 7-0 humiliation of Manchester United with two goals and two assists. The Egyptian became Liverpool’s all-time top scorer (131 goals in 219 matches) in the Premier League in the month of March.
