Premier League leaders Arsenal have received a boost from their doctors as Gabriel Jesus has been cleared to join full training with the rest of the squad.
The Brazilian striker has spent four months on the sidelines after sustaining a knee injury during the World Cup in Qatar in November. Jesus left the tournament prematurely and underwent surgery to fix the issue.
Since then, Jesus’ focus has been to work hard and return to the squad as soon as possible, but with necessary caution taken by doctors and manager Mikel Arteta not to rush him to make sure he returns fully recovered.
Today, the Arsenal star, who made the transfer from Manchester City last summer, has joined his teammates in full training at Arsenal’s training ground London Colney.
This was the group’s last training before flying out to Portugal to face Sporting CP in the first leg of the Europa League Last 16 tomorrow night.
The Brazilian is definitely not going to play this match as he is nowhere near being match ready, but his return to the squad is expected to be against Crystal Palace, in the last match before the March international break.
