Earlier this year, Alemany agreed to a deal with Aston Villa, but U-turned on that decision to remain at the club. However that decision was short-lived.
For the remainder of the transfer window, He will work with Deco.
It was reported in the lead up to the appointment of Deco that he would be given total power over operations on the football side of things at Barcelona, including over Alemany, who previously was leading operations at the club. This could well be the motive for their separation.
Deco will now be solely responsible for all sporting operations at Can Barca including overseeing all professional soccer affairs within the club, encompassing the first team, reserve team, and the Youth A team.
