Barcelona are reportedly considering a loan move for Manchester United’s attacker Jadon Sancho.
Sancho has been starved of game time by Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag, leading to a fallout that had Sancho defend his “scapegoat” position with a statement released on social media over two weeks ago.
Consequently, ten Hag axed the 23-year-old from the squad, saying he does not know if he will play for the club again since “he doesn’t contribute.”
Sancho is currently training alone and was watching the Manchester United match yesterday as the club lost 3-1 to Brighton last evening.
However, all is not dark for Sancho, as there could be a way out of Manchester United for Sancho in January, as Spanish giants Barcelona are monitoring his situation and considering a loan move for him, according to Spanish sports outlet Sport.es
The Catalan giants are lacking depth on the left wing after loaning Ansu Fati to Brighton and Hove Albion, and so could offer Sancho regular play time that could reignite his form.
Sancho has scored just nine league goals since signing for Manchester United in 2021 and has failed to live up to the promise he showed at former club Borussia Dortmund which received more than £70 million in transfer fees for the Englishman.
At Dortmund, Sancho scored 49 goals in his final three seasons and became an England regular but due to his inconsistency, he fell out of Gary Southgate’s England squad and didn’t even make it to the World Cup in Qatar last year.
Should Sancho move to Barcelona in January, it is believed Manchester United would still pay a huge chunk of his wages since the La Liga defending champions have been teetering over the financial red line for a couple of years now.
