Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele has reportedly reached a verbal agreement on a five-year deal with French Ligue 1 side Paris St-Germain (PSG).
The French champions are keen to activate his €50 million release clause and now appear to have convinced the player to make the move as well.
According to numerous reports from Spain and France, Dembele through his agent Moussa Sissoko agreed a deal with PSG until 2028 and the club is now trying to finalise a deal with Barcelona.
The news come as a blow to Barcelona, particularly head coach Xavi Hernandez, who has been trying to convince Dembele to reject the interest from PSG and stay at Camp Nou.
However, by the look of things, Dembele has done the reverse, as Daily Mail reported that the 26-year-old France international instead rejected a new contract with Barcelona in favour of a move to Parc des Princes.
Dembele moved to Barcelona from German Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund in 2017 in a deal worth €105m. His tenure in Spain has been affected by injuries that have stopped him from reaching the potential the Catalan giants thought he would reach, which prompted them to pay big bucks for him.
He has scored 40 goals in 185 appearances for Barcelona in all competitions and has won three La Liga titles. His contract with Barcelona expires at the end of next season in June.
