Bayern Munich convincingly beat hapless Bochum 3-0 to maintain their lead at the top of the Bundesliga.
The Bavarians who take on PSG in the Champions League in midweek have now won 2 games in a row in all competitions following a run of 3 consecutive 1 all draws.
The home side dominated proceedings right from the start, but fell short of perfection early in the game. Leroy Sane was denied an opener by Pierre Kunde’s brilliant block following his pass exchanges with Jamal Musiala.
Musiala was also denied by Bochum goalkeeper Manuel Riemann from a long range before Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting headed wide a glorious opportunity.
But right before the break, Thomas Muller broke the deadlock in the 41st minute following a mixup between Said Janko and his goalkeeper allowing Muller to score his fourth goal of the season.
After recess, Bochum missed an opportunity to level when substitute Kevin stager forced custodian Yann Sommer to full stretch to keep out his header in the top corner.
Soon it was Joao Cancelo who provided a trademark cross for Choupo-Moting but his header missed the target.
Substitute Coman who scored a brace in Bayern’s 4-2 win over Wolfsburg scored on the hour mark to double the lead following a neat pass from Musiala before the French man fired through Riemann’s leg into the back of the net.
Serge Gnabry then sealed the goods for the Bavarians who now go three points clear at the top of the table.
Bochum meanwhile stay 15th in the Bundesliga table.
