The Bundesliga will continue this weekend with matchday 32 fixtures starting on Friday night when Koln battles relegation-based Hertha Berlin.
But all eyes this weekend will be on the title race as the league top two sides, Bayern Munich and Borrusia Dortmund will be in action on Saturday.
In what appears to be the most dramatic Bundesliga title race for years, Bayern are just one point above their rivals, Dortmund with just three games left to play.
Coming into this weekend’s fixtures for both sides, Bayern got over the line against Werder Bremen last weekend, whilst Dortmund hit Wolfsburg six, with Jude Bellingham and Karim Adeyemi each scoring twice.
Bayern will face a Schalke side who are desperate to stay in the Bundesliga. They currently sit in the 15th position, just two points away from the relegation zone.
Schalke moved out of relegation last weekend after securing a 3-2 victory at Mainz 05, with rivals Stuttgart and VFL Bochum dropping points.
But Bayern has a brilliant record over Schalke, as they have won all their last 11 matches against their Saturday’s opponents. Infact they have won their last six games without conceding at all.
Dortmund on the other hand will host their neighbors Mönchengladbach in a Borrusia derby.
Depending on the result at the Allianz Arena, Edin Terzic’s men have the possibility of overtaking Bayern with a victory against Mönchengladbach at home, where they have been excellent in the last few months- racking up 10 straight Bundesliga wins.
In Mönchengladbach, Dortmund face a side who defeated them 4-2 just prior to the World Cup break. The Foals also defeated Bayern Munich just a few weeks ago.
But this season, they haven’t been consistent as they currently sit 10th on the log with just 10 victories in the Bundesliga. Nine of the ten have come from home, meaning they have been bad travellers all season.
The Daniel Furke side will face Dortmund without several of their star players due to injuries. Alassane Plea, Marcus Thuram and Manu Kone are all out with injuries and knocks.
