Bayern Munich will travel to DFL-Supercup winners Leipzig for what promises to be a mouthwatering Bundesliga game of the weekend.
This will be a repeat of August’s Supercup that Leipzig won after beating the Bavarians 3-0 in the traditional German opener at Allianz Arena.
Bayern who are hungry for revenge, go into Saturday’s encounter at the Red Bull Arena as the Bundesliga leaders on goal difference as they are level on points (13) with Bayern Leverkusen.
Since losing to Leipzig, Thomas Tuchel’s men are unbeaten in all competitions, winning five of their six games in all competitions.
Summer signing Harry Kane has been impressive thus far. The English striker has scored seven goals thus far, and has also made three assists.
The host have also started the season well with summer arrivals Xavi Simons and Lois Openda hitting the ground running so fast. They currently sit fifth on the log with 12 points in their opening five games.
Only two points separate Bayern and Leipzig so this will be one game not to be missed as both sides will be aiming for a victory.
The head-to-head between these two sides in the last five games is equal as both sides have each won twice.
In the other Bundesliga games of the weekend, Bayern Leverkusen will visit bottom side FSV Mainz O5.
Leverkusen will bank on Victor Boniface who has so far scored six goals since moving to the Bundesliga from Union Saint-Gilloise in the Belgian Pro League.
Elsewhere, Bochum and Borrusia Monchengladbach will meet at the Ruhrstadion with both sides seeking a first win of the campaign.
Unbeaten Eintracht Frankfurt will visit Volkswagen Arena to take on Wolfsburg while Heidenheim will face Union Berlin.
On Sunday, Darmstadt will host SV Werder Bremen targeting their first three points since returning to the top flight.
Koln will battle VFB Stuttgart SC Freiburg at home to FC Augsburg will conclude the weekend action.
