The Bundesliga action kicks off on Friday as the two bottom sides, 17th-placed VfB Bochum and Mainz, battle each other. These two teams are separated by just two points and are yet to secure victory this season.

On Saturday, six exciting games are scheduled, including the defending champions Bayern Munich, who will face Darmstadt at the Allianz Arena, aiming to extend their unbeaten start to the season.

Bayern is on a 12-game unbeaten run across all competitions, having won 10 times and scored 39 goals in the process. They recently clinched a 3-1 away victory over Mainz 05 in the Bundesliga and continued their remarkable record-breaking unbeaten run in the Champions League group stage to 37 games with a win over Galatasaray.

Also on Saturday, the “battle of the burgs” will take place as Augsburg battles Wolfsburg. Wolfsburg sits ninth on the table with 12 points, while Augsburg is three points behind in 10th. This marks the 25th meeting between the two sides in the Bundesliga.

Stuttgart will go up against Hoffenheim at MHP Arena in another Saturday match. Stuttgart sits second on the table with 21 points in eight games, while Hoffenheim is sixth with 15 points. The two teams drew both Bundesliga meetings last season.

In the late kickoff, Leipzig will host Cologne at the Red Bulls Arena. Leipzig is currently fifth with 17 points, while Cologne is struggling in 16th with four points.

On Sunday, Leverkusen and Dortmund will seek to maintain their unbeaten starts to the season as they play SC Freiburg and Eintracht Frankfurt, respectively. Leverkusen has dropped only two points this season and won seven of their last eight league games.

Dortmund is also unbeaten in the league with six victories and two draws this season, sitting just two points below Leverkusen. They will aim to extend this run against Frankfurt, who have lost only one game this season and won four, with four draws.

In terms of head-to-head statistics, Borussia Dortmund has recorded 52 competitive wins over Eintracht Frankfurt at the professional level – more than against any other team, while Frankfurt has only suffered more losses against Bayern München (63).
