Borrusia Dortmund are the new leaders of the German Bundesliga. This after they defeated Eintracht Frankfurt 4-0 after Bayern had earlier lost 3-1 to Mainz.
Donyell Malen scored twice while Jude Bellingham and Mats Hummels added one each to help Dortmund move one point above the defending champions with five games to play.
For Bayern, they are now winless in three game after their loss to Thomas Tuchel’s former side Mainz.
Saido Mane gave the Bavarians a first lead, but got punished in the second half by Mainz following Ludovic Ajorque, Leandro Barreiro and Aaron Martin goals to increase pressure on Bayern.
In the other Saturday games, Werder Bremen defeated bottom placed Hertha Berlin 4-2, Cologne won at Hoffenheim 3-1, while Wolfsburg humiliated VFL Bochum 5-1 away.
In the Sunday games, Sheraldo Becker netted the only goal as Union Berlin beat Borrusia Mönchengladbach while RB Leipzig lost 2-0 to Bayern Leverkusen.
The League will continue on Friday as Dortmund visits VFL Bochum while on Sunday, Bayern Munich will hope to return to winning ways against Hertha.
