Bayern Munich returned to winning ways with a commanding 4-2 victory over Wolfsburg to go back on top of the German Bundesliga.
The home side came into this game in high spirits following back to back victories of 5-0 and 6-0 while Bayern Munich came into this one with a streak of three one-all draws.
The Bavarians however, felt they had the situation under control as they stamped their authority right from the start and scored three quick goals inside 20minutes.
They went into an early lead in the 9th minute when Kingsley Coman cut inside from the left flank before curling an inswing effort that bounced to beat Wolfsburg custodian Yann Sommer to the far Post for the opener.
In a space of three minutes, Coman doubled the lead with a well executed volley following a perfect inch cross from debutan Joao Cancelo.
Soon before the 20th minute mark, veteran forward Thomas Muller made it 3-0 from Joshua kimmich’s set piece delivery from the left wing that he finished with a glancing header on his 427th appearance.
The hosts however pulled one back following a well worked move that substitute Jakub Kaminski converted to make it 1-3 before halftime break.
After recess Wolfsburg returned strongly and created some good opportunities that Die weibgrunen Ride Baku failed to convert.
Joshua Kimmich was sent off for a second bookable offense before the hour mark but Wolfsburg failed to capitalize on their numerical advantage.
The visitors then through gifted Jamal Musiala made it 1-4. The exciting young forward initiated a text book move dribbling past the entire backline to smash home the final blow.
The hosts put-up a spirited fight to score the second goal through Mattias Svanberg that ensured a 2-4 respectable scoreline. Wolfsburg also had a goal disallowed before the referee’s final whistle.
The result means Bayern are back on top while Wolfsburg remain seventh.
