Champions League Draw: Pep to face former employers, Chelsea drawn against Madrid

The Champions League quarter-final draw that took place at UEFA’s headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland has pitted Pepe Guardiola’s Manchester City against FC Bayern Munich in a fixture that will see the Spanish tactician face his former employers.

The first leg of this match will be played at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester on Tuesday, April 11 and the second leg a week later.

Man City eliminated RB Leipzig -another German side- with an 8-1 goal aggregate to get to this stage while Bayern knocked out a star-studded Paris Saint-Germain with a goal aggregate of 3-0.

Chelsea, the other English side left in the competition will face defending champions Real Madrid in a repeat of last season’s tie at this same stage.

The Blues will make the trip to Santiago Bernabeu in the first leg which will see them face former players Antonio Rudiger and Eden Hazard. The return leg will be at Stamford Bridge a week later.

The other draws will see Serie A runaway leaders Napoli entertain fellow Italians AC Milan, while Inter Milan will play Portuguese side Benfica.

The winner between Manchester City and Bayern Munich will play whoever comes out between Chelsea and Real Madrid in the semi-final.
