Champions League action continues on Wednesday with Napoli hosting Eintracht Frankfurt in the second leg of the Champions League round of 16 looking to finish off the job.
The run-away Serie A leaders who restored their 18-point gap lead in the league with a 2-0 win over Atalanta over the weekend won the first leg 2-0 in Germany, and will be hoping to come out toppers in this one too.
They are definitely booming with confidence. The side coached by Luciano Spalletti is just seven games away from being crowned serie A champions for the first time in more than three decades.
They will fancy their chances to go all the way in the Champions League this season. Their blistering form exhibited since the start of the campaign gives the impression that this could be the time they record their best run in Europe’s elite competition.
With the odds against their opponents who have an uphill task to overcome the first leg deficit ,Napoli are favorites to win this one.
The Hessen-based outfit are struggling as they are without a win in their last three games losing once and drawing the other two . They were held to a 1-all draw by lowly Stuttgart in their most recent game.
It doesn’t get any worse for Oliver Glasner’s side. They travel to Naples without their talisman Rondal Muani who is serving a red card suspension. This leave them with Japanese international Daichi Kamada as their go to guy. Kamada has scored 14 goals in all competitions in 36 appearances.
The Die Alder will have something to cling on though. They have lost Only 3 of their last 20 matches in Europe, and have scored in all three of their Champions League away games this season winning two of those.
They will also hope the form that saw them lift last season’s Europa league revisits them.
