Eintracht Frankfurt host Napoli in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League round of 16 at Frankfurt Stadion on Tuesday.

The two teams last met in the 1994/1995 UEFA Cup in which the Germans won 1-0 after both legs.

Frankfurt who are the current Europa League holders go into this game placed sixth on the Bundesliga table standings. Their most recent game was a 2-0 win over Werder Bremen over the weekend.

The hosts will hope that their foward Randal Kolo Muani maintains his form that has seen him score seven goals in Frankfurt’s last six games.

However, Frankfurt’s coach Oliver Glasner is aware of the threat his opponents pose.

Napoli can not be reduced to their attack alone. They have an excellent balance and concede few goals. They played an exceptionally good group stage. They have high intensity, play very aggressively against the ball, with high pressing and incredibly intensive counter pressing. We know that and have prepared for it.

Napoli were one of the most impressive teams in the Champions league group stage. Luciano Spalletti’s side will travel to German hoping to maintain the form that saw them qualify with five victories out of the six games in the group phase.

The visitors will rely on the stellar form of Victor Osimhen whose goal scoring prowess has seen him score eighteen goals in nineteen games. The Nigerian forward will be expected to spearhead the attack alongside striking partner khvicha kvatatskhelia who has also netted ten goals so far.

The duo was on target as Napoli beat Sassuolo 2-0 on Friday. Kvatatskhelia who has taken the Serie A by storm because of his style of play has earned praise and admiration from fans hence the nicknames ‘Georgian Messi’ and ‘Khvaradona’ from the club’s legendary icon Diego Maradona.
