Chelsea will host defending champions Real Madrid in the return leg of the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals at the Stamford Bridge on Tuesday hoping to turn things around.
The Blues were beaten 2-0 in the first leg last week now they have to score a difference of three goals in order to proceed to the semifinals of the competition.
This is a big ask for The Blues, as they have not won a single match in their previous six matches, and the last time they scored three goals was more than a month ago on March 11.
However, manager Frank Lampard believes Chelsea can turn things around if they play with belief and confidence but one team that is never short of belief and confidence in the Champions League is their opponents who are record winners of this competition.
Madrid come into this fixture after beating Cadiz 2-0 in La Liga but remain 11 points behind leaders Barcelona so it is no secret that the Champions League is their number one priority at this stage of the season. That means they will come out with full force against Chelsea to advance to the semifinals.
And history is on their side too. The 14-time winners have progressed from 18 of their last 19 Champions League knockout stage ties in which they have won the first leg by at least two clear goals.
Team news
Chelsea are without left-back Ben Chilwell who was sent off in the first leg at Santiago Bernabeu so Marc Cucurella is expected to start in that position. Kalidou Koulibaly suffered a hamstring problem in the first leg so he joins Armando Broja on the sidelines.
Kai Havertz, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, and Carney Chukwuemeka will all need to be assessed and pass fitness tests to feature in this tie. Everyone else is available for Lampard to select, except the five players that were not registered.
Real Madrid boss Ancelotti omitted Vinicius Junior and Toni Kroos from the squad over the weekend as a precautionary measure but they are expected to be available tomorrow, with Ferland Mendy the only one out due to injury.
