Manchester United, who have been struggling for form this season, will host Galatasaray in their second game of the Champions League game on Tuesday.

Erik Ten Hag’s side has lost five of their nine games this season, including Saturday’s disappointing 1-0 loss to Crystal Palace at Old Trafford.

That Palace loss followed defeats to Brighton, Spurs and Arsenal in the league, and Bayern Munich in their opening game of the Champions League.

They face a Galatasaray side who are still unbeaten in all competitions. Galatasaray came from two goals down to draw 2-2 against Copenhagen in their opening match of this tournament.

They also over the weekend came from a goal down to defeat Ankaragücü 2-1 in the Turkish Super Lig for their sixth league victory.

Former Manchester United winger Wilfried Zaha in that game scored his first goal for the club since his summer move from Crystal Palace.

Zaha, against Copenhagen was one of the several familiar faces in the Galatasaray’s line-up. The side named seven former Premier League players in their squad including Davinson Sánchez, Hakim Ziyech, Lucas Torreira, Tanguy Ndombélé, Tetê and Angeliño.

Team News

Manchester United are still without Sergio Reguilon, Luke Shaw, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Sergio Reguilon, Lisandro Martinez, Kobbie Mainoo, Amad Diallo and Tyrell Malacia due to injury.

Jadon Sancho is also missing after being exiled from Ten Hag’s squad for improper behavior.

On a good note though, Antony is in contention for a first game in a month after returning to training following his assault charges.

For the visitors, Hakim Ziyech is hoping to be fit to play while defender Kazimcan Karatas is a doubt.

Match facts

Manchester United have never lost at home to Galatasaray. They have met thrice at Old Trafford and their first meeting, which was a Champions League Qualifier in October 1993 ended 3-3.

United then prevailed 4-0 in 1994 and 1-0 in recently in 2012 in the competition’s group stages.

Galatasaray have won just one of their six previous meetings with Manchester United, drawing thrice and losing twice.

Among Manchester United players who have played 10+ times at Old Trafford in the Champions League, only Ruud van Nistelrooy (87) has a better minutes-per-goal ratio than Marcus Rashford (112) in home matches. Indeed, Rashford has netted eight goals in 14 home appearances in the competition.

Probable Line-ups

Manchester United: Onana; Dalot, Varane, Lindelof, Amrabat; Casemiro, Pellistri; Fernandes, Mount, Rashford; Hojlund

Galatasaray: Muslera; Boey, Sanchez, Bardakci, Angelino; Torreira, Demirbay; Zaha, Mertens, Akturkoglu; Icardi
