Chelsea first-team coach Bruno Saltor has reportedly secretly left the club, according to Mail Sport.
Saltor joined Chelsea last year in September alongside Graham Potter after working with the Englishman at Brighton.
When Potter was sacked in April this year, Saltor took charge of Chelsea for one match – a goalless draw against Liverpool before Frank Lampard was confirmed as interim manager for the Blues.
However, Chelsea opted to keep him at the club after appointing Mauricio Pochettino permanently in June. News reaching us indicate that he has now left the club after working alongside Pochettino for just four months.
Chelsea are yet to release a statement confirming Saltor’s departure, but it is understood that the remainder of his contract has been paid up.
Saltor leaves at a time when Chelsea are languishing in the bottom half of the table, having won just one match and lost three of their opening six matches of Premier League season. The latest of those defeats came against Aston Villa on Sunday.
After Saltor’s departure, only two members of Potter’s staff remain at the Stamford Bridge namely; Ben Roberts (head of goalkeeping) and Kyle Macauley (data analyst).
It remains to be seen whether Pochettino will look to add to his current staff following Saltor’s exit, as he seeks to change Chelsea’s performance sooner than later.
