Last week, we reported that Barcelona are planning to re-sign former player Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to finish what he started and the player was or still is looking forward to that reunion in the summer.
Well, that plan might fail to go through because Chelsea are not ready to let this happen under their watch. According to Mail Sport, the reason for Chelsea’s reluctance to sell Aubameyang to Barcelona is because of his continued “flirting” with the Catalan giants in recent weeks.
The Gabonese was seen celebrating with Barcelona players two weeks ago after their 2-1 victory over Real Madrid, something that didn’t sit well with Chelsea bosses, it has emerged.
Having been sidestepped by Chelsea manager Graham Potter for the biggest part of the season, Aubameyang has found himself with plenty of time on his hands that has allowed him to roam around as he plans his exit from the club he joined in September last year.
Aubameyang has only managed to play 18 matches for Chelsea in all competitions and most of these are substitution appearances. He has scored three goals so far. The Gabon international last started a match for The Blues in November last year against Arsenal, and he last made the Chelsea matchday squad in February against Tottenham. Chelsea lost both matches.
Instead of letting Aubameyang join his preferred club Barcelona, Chelsea prefer selling him to Inter Milan. The Italian giants have shown interest in the 33-year-old as they look to improve their attack next season. This will not be Aubameyang’s first time in Italy as he had a short stint with AC Milan over a decade ago.
