Last month, a 7.8 magnitude earthquake hit Turkey and Syria causing the death of over 50,000 people and devasted property worth millions! Former Chelsea and Newcastle United player Christian Atsu died in the aftermath of the earthquake.
Hundreds of thousands of people in Turkey and Syria are in dire need of humanitarian aid and Al Nassr forward and Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo has stepped in to help.
The Portuguese international has sent a plane full of care items to earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria in an effort to help those that were hugely affected.
According to Daily Mail, Ronaldo’s aid sent to the victims includes tents to provide shelter to those whose homes were devastated, food packages for those who are going hungry, beds, pillows, and blankets to keep them warm, milk for children and medical supplies for those that were injured.
Ronaldo has amassed millions in wealth from football in his more than 20-year glittering career and has used it in the past to help those who are disadvantaged by life’s tragedies.
The star has in the past funded children’s brain surgeries, cancer centres, and donated £1 million during the COVID-19 pandemic to authorities in Portugal to help out.
