West Ham United manager David Moyes has labelled Wednesday’s Europa Conference League final against Fiorentina as the biggest moment of his career.
The 60-year old said while speaking at press conference on Tuesday in Prague
” It’s great to be sitting here in the first place. Whether you are an experienced manager or a young one, sitting here for a final is the pinnacle. Hopefully this is just the start for us. I’m enjoying this one and enjoying the moment with everybody.
‘This is the biggest moment of my career. To be a football coach for as long as I have must mean I’m doing something right.
“There are alot of very good coaches out there but, for those young coaches, they have to see if they can do 20 or 25 years in the business.
In his 25-year managerial career in charge of six different clubs, Moyes is yet to get his hands on any major trophy.
Moyes and West Ham defeated Az Alkmaar 3-1 over two legs in the semi-finals to set up a match-up with Seria A outfits Fiorentina.
The English side will be aiming to lift their first European trophy since winning the 1965 Cup Winner’s Cup under John Lyall.
West Ham are yet to lose any game in this year’s European competition, winning 13 and drawing one of their 14 matches this season thus far.
They will face a Fiorentina side who have already lost a cup final this season after losing 3-1 to Inter Milan in the Coppa Italia last month.
Winning the Europa Conference League is Fiorentina’s only route to secure European football next season as they finished the Serie A season in eighth.
This is going to be the third meeting between the two sides as they met twice in the 1975 Anglo-Italian League Cup. West Ham lost both games 1-0
