Saudi Arabian clubs are busy poaching Europe’s top talent this transfer window.
After reportedly persuading Karim Benzema to sign from Real Madrid for big wages, N’Golo Kante is the next top target for Saudi Arabian clubs. According to The Guardian, Emissaries from Saudi Arabian Clubs Al Nasr and Al Ittihad are already in London, England for a meeting with the French star.
They have carried with them a two-year contract proposal that will see Kante paid over €100 million (£86.2m) a year.
Kante is a world cup winner with France as well as a two-time Premier League winner, and a Champions League winner with Chelsea. Up until he got injured last season, he was regarded as one of the best defensive midfielders in modern football so it is no brainer that the two clubs want his services.
Kante was sidelined for most of last season due to injury and made only nine appearances for Chelsea, and it is this injury that barred him from extending his contract at Stamford Bridge in March this year.
His contract is due to expire at the end of this month and he has previously expressed his interest to stay at Chelsea. But that was before a mouthwatering offer like this came through so his plans could change.
If he joins any of these clubs, he will either play with compatriot Benzema at Al Ittihad or Cristiano Ronaldo at Al Nasr. The Saudi Pro League could be interesting to watch with these and more superstars joining in the near future.
