Erling Haaland ended a four-game run without a Manchester City goal with a 19-minute goal as Man City edged Brighton 2-1 on Saturday.
The Norwegian had last scored for Pep Guardiola’s team on 23rd September against Nottingham Forest, but after his brilliant display on national duty against Cyrus, Man City fans hoped he’d chosen the right boots for this encourter.
Haaland netted a brace for Norway in this Euro 2024 Qualifier, but for City faithful, he had not made them feel the man who topped the scoring charts last season.
They didn’t have to worry for so long though as the long awaited goal arrived in the 19th minute.
His goal was sandwiched by Julián Álvarez and Ansu Fati’s goal. Ansu’s goal that arrived in the 73rd minute, 54 minutes later ended up to be a consolation goal for Roberto De Zerbi’s boys.
The Norwegian’s goal endes up making a difference as it took Guardiola’s men back to the top of the table.
