Manchester City’s Erling Haaland was the star player of the recently concluded Premier League season, which was his debut season.

His goals did not only help his club win the league, and put them on course for a first-ever treble, they also had him break and set several records along the way.

The Norwegian broke records that have stood the test of time and set his that will take an even more special player to break. They include;

Most goals in a Premier League season – 36

Was: 34, held by Andy Cole (1993/94, Newcastle) and Alan Shearer (1994/95, Blackburn).

Most goals in a debut Premier League season – 36

Was: 30, held by Kevin Phillips (1999/2000, Sunderland)

Most goals in all competitions in a Premier League season – 52*

Was: 44, held by Ruud van Nistelrooy (2002/03, Man Utd) and Mohammed Salah (2017/18, Liverpool)

Most goals for Manchester City in all competitions in a single season – 52*

Was: 38, held by Tommy Johnson (1928/29)

Most goals in an English top-flight league season by a non-British or Irish player – 36

Was: 33, held by George Robledo (1951/52, Newcastle)

Fewest number of games needed to score two Premier League hat-tricks – 5

Was: 21, held by Demba Ba (Newcastle)

Fewest number of games needed to score three Premier League hat-tricks – 8

Was: 48, held by Michael Owen (Liverpool)

Fewest number of games needed to score four Premier League hat-tricks – 19

Was: 65, held by Ruud van Nistelrooy (Manchester United)

Fewest number of games needed to score 20 goals in a Premier League season – 14

Was: 21, held by Kevin Phillips (1999/2000, Sunderland)

Fewest number of games needed to score 25 goals in a Premier League season – 19

Was: 26, held by Kevin Phillips (1999/2000, Sunderland)

Equalled most Premier League goal involvements – 44 (36G 8A) with Thierry Henry (24G 20A)

Fewest number of games needed to score 25 goals under Pep Guardiola – 20

Was: 28, held by Lionel Messi

Fewest number of games needed to score 30 Champions League goals – 25

Was: 34, held by Ruud van Nistelrooy

First Premier League player to score 20 goals before January in a season

First Premier League player to score in opening four away games

First Premier League player to score hat-tricks in three successive home games

First player to score more than one goal on his Champions League debut for three different clubs

Most Premier League goals in August in any season

He has a chance of scoring more in the FA Cup and Champions League finals that will be played on June 3 and 10 respectively.
