Solly March missed Brighton’s crucial kick while Victor Lidelof scored United’s winning penalty.

Before March missed, Pascal Gross, Lewis Duck, Charlie Webster, Denis Undaz, Alexis Mac Allister and Estupinan had converted the Seagulls penalties while also Marcus Rashford, Diogo Dalot, Casemiro, Jadon Sancho, Marcel Sabitzer and Wout Weghorst had put their kicks in.

United will now face Man City in the final of the FA CUP in June at Wembley Stadium.

Despite the game ending goalless after extra-time, both sides had a couple of goalscoring chances to break the deadlock and win the game.

Brighton had their first attempt at goal in the 6th minutes when Mac Allister forced a save off David De Gea

A few minutes later on the other side, Bruno Fernandes also got his right-footed shot save by Roberto Sanchez after the Portuguese found himself in a pocket of space

Before the break, Bruno got another chance to score, but the midfielder just sliced his shot wide off the post

After the break, Brighton had the first attempt at goal through Julio Enciso, who got a clean shot on goal after a corner but De Gea did brilliantly to save it.

Brighton came at United’s goal again with just six minutes left on the 90, but once again De gea dropped down fast to save March’s shot.

United almost won the game in extra time but Sanchez made two saves to deny both Rashford and Sancho.

Having advanced to the final, United have equalled Arenal record for most FA Cup final appearance (21)

They also remain on course to win both the two major English competitions this season after having won the Carabao in February against Newcastle.
