The Premier League have approved sports data company Infinite Athlete to become Chelsea’s new front-of-shirt sponsor
The deal, believed to be worth in the region of £40 million for the season, has finally been given the green light and Infinite Athlete will appear on Chelsea’s shirts.
A formal announcement is expected to be made today, Wednesday, September 27, with more details on how long the partnership between the club and the company will run.
Chelsea have been without a front-of-shirt sponsor for the first six Premier League games of the season after the contract with Three expired in the summer.
The Premier League blocked a proposed deal with media giant Paramount, while the Blues pulled out of advanced negotiations with gaming company Stake.
Once the announcement has been made, Infinite Athlete’s logo could be on show in Chelsea’s match against Fulham on Monday night. The deal is for the Infinite Athlete logo to appear on the shirts of both Chelsea’s men’s and women’s teams.
Infinite Athlete, which was launched just last month, provided the Premier League with details of their funding and revenues in order to satisfy fair market value rules and get the go-ahead to display the company’s logo on Chelsea’s shirts, according to Telegraph Football.
Infinite Athlete is a private company that syncs every piece of sports data to allow people to build and develop new products.
The company first explored the possibility of taking over stadium naming rights deals across the globe before making an offer to become Chelsea’s new front-of-shirt sponsor.
