Chelsea interim boss Frank Lampard has called for fans to support the team despite a string of disappointing results in the last few months.
The Blues have lost all their last seven games in all competitions since Lampard was appointed to replace Graham Potter in March.
These include Premier League losses to Brighton, Brentford, Wolves and Arsenal and two Champions League losses to Real Madrid in the quarter-final.
In those six games, Lampard’s side has scored just two goals and conceded 12 – a disappointing performance that has seen them drop out of the UEFA Champions League, plus drop to a dismal 12th place on the Premier League log.
“They have to stick with the team. I don’t have to say much more than that. You see that at the end of the Arsenal game. All we can say in this period, myself and the players, we have to show an immense amount of pride. That’s the first step into future.” Lampard said when asked by the Media in his pre-match press conference on Friday ahead of Bournemouth game.
Lampard is still looking for his first victory as Chelsea’s interim boss and next-up, his side will battle Bournemouth in the South Coast.
The Cherries were impressive in April, wining five of their seven games including a dramatic 3-2 victory at Spurs. They currently sit level on points with Chelsea (39), having played a game more.
After Chelsea play Bournemouth, they will host Nottingham Forrest before three games against the Premier League top four to finish the season.
They will travel to Manchester to take on City and United before returning home to host Newcastle in their last game of the season.
