Casemiro’s three match suspension could hinder Manchester United’s title hopes due to the void that will be left in the team.
The five time Champions League winner has had his vast experience greatly improve the Old Trafford outfit, but that will be missed in the next three league games. In his absence, Marcel Sabitzer on loan from Bayern is likely to be an option.
Manchester United boss Erik Ten hag was left impressed by the midfielder on his debut when he came off the bench to contain high raiding Crystal Palace on the weekend’s 2-1 win.
Ten Hag after that game said “He played really well, He understands the game and it’s good to see.” But he is not Casemiro.
United’s next three games that the Brazilian will miss seem manageable on paper considering their current form. They should be able to collect six points against Leeds as they face Jesse Marsch’s team twice in a space of four days, starting with the Wednesday game at Old Trafford
Leeds is such a difficult opponent to breakdown but their inconsistency and the talent and form of Man U should be enough for Ten Hag’s charges to achieve the desired results.
United will then host Leicester city on 19th Feb. The Foxes’ resurgence should be less of a concern to the Red Devils given the former’s form at home, which currently reads 13 successive victories.
Again on paper, Man United seem like they will be just fine without Casemiro. How and if they will manage without the Brazilian awaits to be seen.
