Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper and captain Hugo Lloris will not play again this season due to a thing issue.
This was confirmed by interim boss Ryan Mason while addressing the media on Friday.
“Hugo is out for the season. We have now had the results back. We did fear that.” Mason said.
The former France international goalkeeper picked up an injury during Spurs’ 6-1 defeat to Newcastle on 23 April and has not featured since then.
Fraser Forster who has started the club’s last two matches, against Manchester United and Liverpool will most likely occupy Lloris’ spot for the remaining four games of the season.
Lloris has been at Spurs since 2012 when he joined the club from French side Lyon. He had also previously played at Nice.
Since then in all competitions, the 36-year old has made 447 appearances, made 151 cleansheets and conceded 508 goals for Spurs.
Spurs currently sit Seventh on the Premier League log with 54 points in 34 games. They play Crystal Palace next on Saturday before ties against Aston Villa, Brentford and Leeds.
