Manchester United boss Eric Ten Hag has said that he can’t blame his team after the Premier League loss to Westham United on Sunday evening
The Red Devils lost to the Hammers 1-0 at London Stadium after David De Gea costly error to give Algerian Said Benrahma a goal in the first half.
Speaking to the journalists after the game, Ten Hag put on the blame to the tight schedule not the players.
“I can’t blame my team, they put all the effort in. From Christmas we have played every three days and in the second half we couldn’t bounce back. Now we have to reset,” Ten Hag said after the game.
“First half we played quite well, created a lot of opportunities then on the first occasion, they scored the goal. We lost from ourselves now we have a week. We need energy.”
On De Gea’s error, The United boss says mistakes are part of football so he won’t dwell much into it for future games as he trusts the Spanish goalkeeper
“Mistakes are part of football but as a team you have to deal with it and bounce back. Over the season, he is the one with the most clean sheets. Everyone has to take responsibility.
The Red Devils, who have played 11 games in the last 31 days are now a point above Liverpool in the race for the last UEFA Champions League qualification spot
For the entire season, they have been horrible away from home as they have now lost eight games on the road in the Premier League, the most they have lost in a single season.
United now have a full week to rest. They will be back in action next weekend against Wolves FC, before they play Bournemouth and Chelsea.
