Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has hailed Erik Ten Hag ahead of his side’s FA Cup final clash with Manchester United
While addressing the media on Friday ahead of the final on Saturday at Wembley Stadium, the Spanish gaffer said in Ten Hag, Man United have an exceptional manager for many years to come
“It’s not easy the first season in the Premier League, I know myself, so that defines a really good manager. I cannot say we are friends as we are not in touch much… but I think Man United has an exceptional manager for many, many years.”
It has been a superb start to life for Ten Hag in the Premier League after having guided the Red Devils back into the UEFA Champions League- after finishing third in the English Premier League.
The Dutch tactician also ended United’s six year wait for a trophy after helping his side to win the Carabao Cup in February.
On Saturday, Ten Hag could end the season with United with two trophies, but standing in their way is Manchester City who are chasing a treble.
Guardiola’s side has already won the Premier League title and are also in the UEFA Champions League final, where they will face Inter Milan on June 10.
Manchester United are seeking their 13 FA Cup while Manchester City wants to win it for the seventh time in their history.
If United win this cup, they will play in the FA Community Shield at the start of next season against City.
If City wins, Arsenal, who finished second in the English Premier League will play City in the Shield.
