Midfielder N’Golo Kante has confirmed that he wants to be part of Chelsea’s future.
Kante’s contract is due to expire at the end of June, and it had been thought that he was looking to leave Stamford Bridge in 2023 in search of green pastures but now, he has confirmed that he wants to stay at the London side.
“I want to be part of Chelsea future, for sure. It’s an exciting project,” Kante told Football Daily on Thursday
“Unfortunately this season was not at Chelsea level but we want to go the way of success. Let’s see where I will be but I hope here”.
“It’s an exciting project with all the new Excellent signings who want to succeed so I want to stay here, of course”.
‘I hope this club will again fight in this direction. Let’s see where I will be but I hope that this is a change for the club, that is most important.’
Kante joined Chelsea in 2016 off the back of helping Leicester City win the 2015-16 Premier League title. He has represented the Blues on 269 occasions, contributing 13 goals and 15 assists in the process.
The midfielder has also won the Premier League, FA Cup, Champions League, Europa League, UEFA Super Cup and Club World Cup since arriving in the English capital.
He was part of the France squad that won the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
His side, Chelsea currently sit eleventh on the English Premier League log with 42 points and will return to action on Saturday when they face Nottingham Forest.
