Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola insists should his City side slip up against Leicester City, their hopes of defending the Premier League trophy will be dead and gone.
Guardiola and his charges welcome relegation threatened Leicester to the Etihad Stadium on Saturday in a game that could see them record ten successive victories in all competitions.
City are currently placed 2nd with 67 points, six below table leaders Arsenal, but they have a game in hand on the Gunners. A win tomorrow against a team placed second from the bottom will see them reduce the gap to three points at least for a day as Mikel Arteta’s boys play on Sunday.
“Earlier in the season our good games were really, really good but we were not consistent,” Guardiola who was speaking to the media in a pre-match press conference said.
“Everyone knows if we’d lost those games we would not win the title. It’s the same tomorrow [Saturday]. If we lose the game we will not be champions.
“If we win, we would still be there but we cannot forget we are six points behind Arsenal, a team that have dropped few points throughout the season and play one game a week.”

Man City go into that game with no worries of new injuries. Only Phil Foden, who underwent appendix surgery last month will miss the tie. Guardiola gave an update on the Englishman.
“I think he feels better. I spoke with the doctors three days ago and he feels better but still he’s not ready.
“I don’t know [when he will be ready]. When he starts training you will know it from our social media and after that he will be close to coming back but still he cannot train with us.”
Leicester on the other hand have James Justin, Richardo Barbosa, Harvey Barnes and Ryan Bertrand all ruled out due to injuries. Youri Tielemans who shed off an ankle injury however, will be available for selection.
