Manchester United will travel to the City Ground on Sunday afternoon to face Nottingham Forest seeking to avoid a third successive Premier League away defeat.
The Red Devils have lost their last two away games ( 7-0 to Liverpool and 2-0 to Newcastle) and will hope for better fortunes on Sunday against Forest.
They also come into this game after a disappointing 2-all draw with Sevilla in their Europa League tie – in a game where both Tyler Malacia and Harry Maguire netted in their own net late on to wipe out their two-goal advantage.
In their last league outing though, they defeated Everton 2-0 at home courtesy of Antony Martial and Scott Mctonimay goals.
The Erik Ten Hag managed team have also been hit by injuries after center backs Lisandro Martinez and Rafael Varane failed to finish the Sevilla game.
Their red-hot striker, Marcus Rashford is also out after sustaining a groin injury in last weekend’s win over Everton. The same can be said on left-back Luke Shaw who has been out since the start of the month due to a hamstring issue.
Ten Hag’s team though, will be boosted by the return of Christian Eriksen, who returned from injury and featured against Everton last weekend and also came off the bench against Sevilla in midweek.
Despite currently sitting in the top four, they will face a test against Forest who have collected their most points this season at home. Infact they have lost just one of their last 11 Premier League games at the City Grounds and have failed to score just once in front of their own fans, and that was earlier on in the season in their 2-0 defeat to Tottenham HotSpurs.
However, they have lost four of their last five Premier League games which form has kept them in the relegation zone in the 18th position.
Like United, they have a couple of players out injured including Cheikhou Kouyate, Chris Wood, Willy Boly and Dean Henderson.
The reverse fixture between these two teams ended in the Devils’ 3-0 victory. The two sides also met in EFL Cup semis and United won 5-0 on aggregate.
