Joao Felix on loan from Atletico Madrid scored his first Chelsea goal, but it was not enough to give the Blues all the three points.
After the visitors enjoying a large portion of possession, the Portuguese combined with the Premier League record signing Enzo Fernandez for Chelsea’s 23rd goal of the season.
That happened in the 16th minutes, but despite Chelsea’s utter dominance, the Hammers restored parity just after 12 minutes through former Chelsea player Emerson.
West Ham scored the second goal through Tomas Soucek, but Graham Potter’s team had VAR come to their rescue as the goal was ruled out for offside.
The Blues will however, feel cheated by VAR as Soucek’s handball late in the game wasn’t called in for a penalty.
In the end, Chelsea’s possession counted for nothing! Potter was evidently disappointed as this draw made it three successive stalemates for them following their goalless draws against both Liverpool and Fulham.
The result leaves Chelsea placed ninth in the table standings while taking West Ham to 16th .
