The Spanish La Liga continues for matchday three this weekend with matches starting on Friday, running all through up to Monday night.
Tonight, league leaders Real Madrid will make the trip to Estadio de Balaídos in Vigo to face 16th-placed Celta Vigo. Madrid have two wins in their two matches so far this season and want to keep this perfect start to the campaign running.
Los Blancos also hope new signing Jude Bellingham will keep his form after scoring twice in each of the previous two matches, something only Cristiano Ronaldo had done for Spanish side. Celta Vigo are also aiming for their first win in the league and hope their home advantage will boost them tonight.
Sevilla, who are yet to register a point this season and are sitting in the 18th position with a negative goal difference, return to action on Saturday when they host Girona. Girona find themselves in an unfamiliar position of fourth on the log after collecting four points from the available six. They will hope to keep this good performance running especially against a struggling Sevilla side.
Last season’s league winners Barcelona play on Saturday, away to Villareal. Both teams come into this match on the back of 2-0 and 1-0 wins last weekend respectively, having failed to win their first matches of the season a week earlier.
Barcelona want to keep this winning momentum going but Villareal’s record against the Catalan giants is so poor, that they have only won once in the last 28 matches (D6 L21)!
Atletico Madrid will round off matchday three on Monday night with a trip to Estadio de Vallecas to play Rayo Vallecano in a Madrid derby. Vallecano are one of just three teams to win their opening two matches of this La Liga season, which has made them sit second on the table.
Atletico Madrid want to return to winning ways after playing out a goalless draw against Real Betis last time out.
