Matchday three of this season’s La Liga produced some interesting results that have left some clubs rethinking their tactics while others are taking up positions at the top.

Such clubs in the latter category include Girona, who beat Sevilla 2-1 in their own backyard. The win pushed Girona to second on the table and pushed Sevilla to the bottom, having now lost all three of their opening matches of the season.

In Madrid, new star boy Jude Bellingham continued to shine as he scored the only goal for Los Blancos as they claimed a narrow 1-0 victory over Celta Vigo. The Englishman has now scored in all three Real Madrid La Liga matches so far this season.

Barcelona and Villareal played an end-to-end match on Sunday afternoon that produced seven goals, the most goals in a match in this round.

The Catalan giants have Robert Lewandowski to thank as he struck the 4th and winning goal to edge a stubborn Villareal and win the match with a 4-3 scoreline. The victory took Barcelona to third on the table.

Here are the full results:

Las Palmas 0-0 Real Sociedad

Celta Vigo 0-1 Real Madrid

Cádiz 1-1 Almería

Granada 3-2 Mallorca

Sevilla 1-2 Girona

Villarreal 3-4 Barcelona

Valencia 1-2 Osasuna

Athletic Club 4-2 Real Betis

Tonight, Getafe will host Alaves and Rayo Vallecano will entertain Atletico Madrid to round off the matchday.
