Roberto Firmino came off the bench to rescue a point against an Arsenal side that scored two first half goals to take the lead.
The Brazilian headed home Alexander Arnold-Trent’s deadly cross after the Liverpool right back nutmegged Trossard on the edge of the box.
Earlier, Arsenal had scored two good goals from Gabriel Martinelli in the eighth minute and the youngster turned provider to set up Gabriel Jesus in the 28th minute.
Mohammed Salah pulled one back three minutes to the halftime break and he missed a penalty in the second half that would have levelled matters earlier than Firmino’s header.
In between, Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale pulled off several saves to deny Mohammed Salah, Derwin Nunez, and that kept Arsenal in the game, especially in the second half when the Gunners looked like they had no more firepower left.
Arsenal created little to nothing in the second half which invited more pressure from Liverpool and Jürgen Klopp’s men gladly took the opportunity.
The draw now puts Arsenal six points clear of Manchester City in second, who have a game in hand but Liverpool stay in eighth.
