Liverpool have reportedly agreed a transfer fee of over £34.2 million (€40m) to sign Ryan Gravenberch from German Bundesliga side Bayern Munich.
After his medical tests, the midfielder, who is set to travel to England this Thursday night, will sign a five-year-deal at that will keep him at Anfield until 2028.
Gravenberch was not involved in Bayern Munich’s training today as he prepared to leave the German giants ahead of his move to Liverpool.
When the deal is completed, Bayern will make a profit since they bought Gravenberch for just £20 million from Dutch side Ajax Amsterdam last summer.
Despite his massive talent, Gravenberch was starved of game time last season and a move to Liverpool’s midfield rebuild could give him more time on the pitch than the bench.
Gravenberch has been on Liverpool’s transfer list since last summer. They even expressed interest in him before he opted to join Bayern.
The player has been on the Reds’ radar this window as well even though Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia were highly prioritized.
The pair ended up moving to Chelsea, giving Liverpool the chance to actively pursue Gravenberch until today, when the deal has been given the green light by Bayern, who had initially said they won’t sell.
