Last month, Bayern Munich star Sadio Mane was involved in a physical fight with teammate Leroy Sane in the dressing room after their match against Manchester City that left the German with a broken lip.
Mane was subsequently suspended for one match and fined £250,000 by Bayern.
Ever since that incident, reports from Germany have indicated that Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel is ready to let Mane leave the club at the end of the season.
With Mane’s future uncertain, Soccer Scoop understands that both Manchester United and Newcastle United are planning to work out a plan to sign Mane and bring him back to the Premier League where he made his name.
Manchester United have had some problems with their attack that has left them scrapping for goals in matches that matter and Erik ten Hag feels the addition of Mane could solve that problem next season.
On the other side, Newcastle’s attack has been impressive this season but the possibility of qualifying for the UEFA Champions League next season means they will need to reinforce their squad.
Mane’s experience as a former winner and consistent Champions League performer could come in handy for Newcastle.
The Senegalese left Liverpool last season to join Bayern Munich with much anticipation from the German club and fans alike but he has not lived up to expectations and the injury he suffered just days before the World Cup last year did not help matters. He has scored only 12 goals and five assists in 37 matches in all competitions for the Bavarians.
According to Sky Sports Germany, if the move to either Manchester United or Newcastle doesn’t materialize, other top clubs in Spain, Italy, and even Saudi Arabia are also closely monitoring Mane’s situation and could make a move.
