Manchester United return to Premier League action on Saturday to take on Leicester City looking to close the gap between themselves and table leaders Arsenal.
The Red Devils go into this game in buoyant mood following their midweek trip to Spotify Camp Nou that saw them hold in-form Barcelona to a two all draw in the Europa league playoffs first leg.
Erik Ten Hag’s men will hope to give themselves a chance to close the eight point gap between them and Arsenal who returned to the top of the table following their 4-2 win over Aston Villa yesterday.
The hosts will hope to build on their home run that read 13 wins before their draw against Leeds a couple of weeks ago. They will be banking on that form as they seek to outcompete highly flying Leicester who have scored four goals in each of their last two premier league games.
The 4-2 and 4-1 back to back victories against Aston Villa and Tottenham respectively speak volumes for Leicester’s resurgence. The foxes boast of gods displays against Manchester United as they have registered three wins and two draws in their last six meetings.
The visitors will hope that James Maddison, Kelechi Iheanacho and Harvey Burnes maintain their form that has seen them score 9 ,5 and 8 goals respectively this campaign.
The man of the moment
Man United will rely on the brilliant form of Marcus Rashford whose goal scoring prowess has seen the Old Trafford outfit climb to third with only six points adrift of second placed Manchester City.
Rashford, since returning from the World Cup has netted 13 times which is more than any other player in the 5 major leagues in Europe.
The 25-year-old academy product has scored 22 goals and made eight assists so far this season which is the highest in the his career. Erik Ten Hag heaped praise on the forward as reported by the club’s official website.
Asked if Rashford is one of the best forwards in Europe, Ten Hag said: “He is definitely one of them. He has the skills, I was convinced from the first moment. I was really excited to work with him.”

Manchester United will be without Casemiro who is still suspended while Antony has gotten a minor injury. Donny Van de Beek, Christian Eriksen are ruled out with long term injuries. Antony Martial and Scott McTominay are doubtful.
Leicester should welcome back Youri Tielemans after a calf injury and Boubakary Soumare who was out for two months. Jonny Evans is doubtful while Fullback duo of James Justin and Ryan Bertrand are out injured
