Erik Ten Hag will be aiming to build on their 1-0 league win over Burnley on Saturday.

The Red Devils had before that victory lost three consecutive games in all competitions while conceding 10 goals in the process.

They lost 3-1 to both Arsenal and Brighton and Hove Albion in the Premier League before falling 4-3 to Bayern Munich in the Champions League, but they will look to follow that Burnley win with another one on Tuesday.

Ten Hag’s men will take on Crystal Palace who are playing their second game in this competition this season after having competed in the second round where they defeated Plymouth 4-2 to advance to the third round.

Heading into this game, they played out a goalless draw against Fulham in the league.

Team News

Manchester United will be without Luke Shaw, Tyrell Malacia, Kobbie Mainoo and Amad Diallo who are all still unavailable with long term injuries, while Jadon Sancho and Antony are also unavailable.

But the Red Devils will be boasted by the return of Mason Mount, Harry Maguire and Lisandro Martinez who all missed Saturday’s victory.

Palace will be without Michael Olise, James Tomkins, Jefferson Lerma and Matheus Franca due to injuries.

Match Stats

United will face Crystal Palace in back-to-back games. Their next outing in the Premier League will be a game against the same opponents on Saturday.

The Red Devils have faced Palace 63 times in their history, and they have come out on top 40 times.

The last League Cup meeting between these two sides happened in 2004 in the fourth round; Manchester United won it 2-0.

Man United have just two wins in their last six matches against Crystal Palace.

Christian Eriksen has been directly involved in seven goals in 11 Premier League appearances against Crystal Palace. He has scored three and assisted four.
