Manchester United had to recover from two goals down to defeat 10-man Nottingham Forest 3-2 on Saturday at Old Trafford.
The Red’s had an awful start to the game as they conceded two goals in the opening four minutes.
The first goal they conceded came from a corner kick which was cleared from the opposite end to reach Taiwo Awonyi who raced against Rashford to go clean on goal and beat Andre Onana.
United conceded a second a few minutes later after they failed to deal with Brendan Johnson’s teasing free-kick for Willy Boly to guide the ball past Onana and into the net.
After conceding those early two goals, United took time to recover from that, until Fernandez had a shot by Matt Turner.
United then pulled a goal back midway the half through Christian Eriksen, who flicked into the far corner after brilliant initial work by Marcus Rashford to set him up.
United tried to find a leveller before the break, but got denied by Turner. The former Arsenal goalkeeper denied Casemiro before doing the same to Antony Martial and Aaron Wan-Bisaaka.
Soon after the break, Forest almost restored their lead but were denied by Diogo Dalot’s sharp interception.
Fernandez then produced a moment of magic in the 52nd minute when he surprisingly played out his free-kick to Rashford, who in-turn returned the ball to Manchester United captain to nod across goal to Casemiro to head home from close range to make it 2-2.
The next chance with the score still 2-all fell to Forest’s Danilo who sent in a ferocious shot but Onana was alert.
On the other end soon afterwards, Antony curved in a shot which was clawed away by Turner.
The game’s changing moment then happened in the 67th minutes when Worall was shown a red card by Stuart Attwell for denying Fernandez a clear goalscoring opportunity. VAR reviewed that incident and sided with the referee.
The next attempt on goal resulted into a goal as Bruno blasted home from the spot after Rashford got brought down in the area by Danilo
United had to hold on in the closing exchanges of the game to secure the victory as Forest flew whatever they had on the Red’s defense in search for a late equalizer.
With this victory, United extend their unbeaten home streak to 30 games and now move to six points this season.
