Arsenal play Wolverhampton Wanderers in the last match of the 2022/3 season for nothing but pride. The Gunners have already confirmed their finishing position to be second while Wolves could leapfrog Chelsea in 12th if they beat Arsenal and Chelsea lose.
Arsenal want to finish the league with a win that could maybe nurse the wounds left after losing the title in the final weeks of the season after spending the majority of the season on the top of the table.
The Gunners lost 1-0 to Nottingham Forest last weekend in a match where they showed there is still work to do if they want to win the league, while Wolves played out a 1-all draw against relegation-fighting Everton.
Both teams have seen a rough patch of games, winning only two in the last five but Arsenal are known to perform exceptionally well in the final match of the season.
Premier League stats show that Arsenal have won 78% of their last Premier League matches of the season. This doesn’t look good in the eyes of Wolves, who have lost the final match of the season five years in a row.
Another factor that is in Wolves’ disadvantage is that their woeful away form. They have failed to win any of their last seven matches on the road and are facing an Arsenal side that have only fallen to Manchester City and Brighton and Hove Albion at home.
