Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe has said he informed his club about his decision not extending his contract beyond 2024 in a letter sent to the board of directors on 15th July 2022, and the letter sent on Monday was ‘simply intended to confirm what I had already told them’ last year.
This comes a day after Mbappe announced that he wouldn’t extend his contract with the club until 2025.
“PSG’s board of directors has been informed since 15th July 2022 of my decision not to extend my contract beyond 2024, and the letter sent was simply intended to confirm what I had already told them.” Mbappe told AFP.
Last year, Mbappe, who signed for the club in 2017 from Monaco extended his stay at PSG until 2024, with the possibility of activating an option for a further year.
Real Madrid has been one of the clubs strongly linked to snap up the 24-year old over the years. Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City are some of the other linked to the player in the past.
Mbappe is currently PSG’s all-time top scorer with 212 goals in 260 matches.
