The UEFA Champions League action resumes on Tuesday with PSG hosting Bayern Munich in the first leg of the last sixteen at the Parc de Princess.
The game is a repeat of the 2021 encounter in the first leg of the quarterfinals that saw the Bavarians triumphed 1-0 at the same ground.
The Parisians may have wished to face a slightly easier opponent in this knock out round but their inability to top Group H meant they had to be pitted against the 6 times Champions League winners.
Having not won this trophy, PSG will hope this is their year as they seek to better their 2019/2020 campaign where they lost the final to the same opponent.
The French giants will hope their home run this campaign that reads 12 wins and three draws in 15 home games plays to their advantage.
But they go into this game on the back of two successive losses. Their 2-0 French cup defeat to Marseille preceded their 3-1 loss to Monaco in League 1 on Sunday.
They missed stars players in Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi through injuries in those games.
Bayern Munich will be looking to continue with their impressive Champions League form this term. The Bavarians topped a supposedly tight group that had Barcelona and Inter Milan with maximum points
Julian Nagelsmann’s men boast of an impressive run at this stage having progressed to the quarter finals 9 times out of the last 10 seasons. They are also on a three-game winning run in domestic competitions following a run of three 1-all draws.
