High-flying Brighton and Hove Albion had to dig deep to get all the three points against struggling Bournemouth as they climbed to the sixth position in the English Premier League.
The Seagulls had Japanese star Kaoru Mitoma to thank for the win! The 25-year-old rose above the rest to head home a Jeremy Sarmiento’s cross in the 87th minute.
That goal meant Mitoma has now scored five goals for Brighton which goals have been vital for the side in their pursuit for European football.
While Mitoma did his magic, this was a match of two extremes! Bournemouth had lost four of their last five games. On the other hand, Brighton had only one loss in the number of games. Bournemouth were looking to catch a break from all the losing as Brighton were looking to keep up their fine form in their pursuit for European football.
Brighton’s 72% possession of the ball, 20 shots (six on target), 650 passes (89% accuracy), and seven corners show you how much they dominated the match. The late goal and the three points were the reward for their dominance. Anything less than that would look unfair for Roberto De Zerbi’s men.
