Newcastle United have qualified for the the Champions League for the first time in 20 years after drawing 0-0 with Leicester City in the English Premier League on Monday.
The point secured ensured the Magpies cannot finish below top-four this season heading into their last game of the season against Chelsea on Sunday.
To the game on Monday, Newcastle dominated the proceedings from the start to the end as they looked to win the game.
They hit the post on three occasions- through Callum Wilson, Miguel Almiron and Bruno Guimaraes.
Newcastle were also denied by goalkeeper Daniel Iverson on multiple occasions. The Leicester custodian denied Sean Longstaff, Alex Isak and Wilson.
Despite failing to win the game, Newcastle move a point ahead of fourth-placed Manchester United and have secured qualification for next season’s Champions League.
They were last in Europe’s top club competitions in 2003 when they reached the group stage before finishing below Barcelona and Inter Milan.
For Leicester, they climb above Leeds in goal difference but stay in the relegation zone ahead of their last game against West Ham – which they need to win to stand a chance of avoiding going down.
